SOCAR announces plans to open new gas stations in Georgia

In 2012 the number of gas stations in Georgia operating under the brand of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will exceed 120 units, a source at SOCAR Energy Georgia told Trend on Wednesday. SOCAR Energy Georgia represents SOCAR's interests in Georgia.

In late 2011, the number of gas stations operating under the SOCAR brand in Georgia reached 93 units. "In 2012 the number of outlets throughout Georgia will exceed 120 units," the source said.

SOCAR Georgia Petroleum is engaged in the sales of Azerbaijani oil products in Georgia. It started its activity in 2006 and is SOCAR Energy Georgia's wholly-owned subsidiary.

SOCAR has a wide network of gas stations in Georgia. Further are gradually opening under the brand name in Ukraine and Romania. It was also announced recently that SOCAR purchased a network of gas stations in Switzerland.
