The Cabinet of Ministers authorized the Azerbaijani State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources to make direct contracts with domestic and foreign consulting companies in the frames of timely preparation of the draft National Strategy for 2012-2020. The State Agency is in part of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan.
The Cabinet of Ministers published this regulation on Thursday. It entered into force upon signature on Jan 27.
"Given the importance of timely submission of the draft National strategy to the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Agency is allowed, as an exception, to carry out work through direct contracts with specialized local and foreign consulting companies," says the regulation.
In late last December the President of Azerbaijan signed an order for preparation of the strategy for the use of alternative and renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan for the period of 2012-2020.
The order envisages providing the State Agency with 1 million manat from the state budget of the Reserve Fund of Azerbaijan President. This money will be used for the preparation of strategy.
