International Pipeline Company (IPC) "Sarmatia" submitted to the European Commission as part of the construction of Brody-Plock oil pipeline ("Adam's gate") documentation necessary to complete the procedure of notification of state aid, director secretary of IPC Sergey Skripka told Trend on Wednesday.
This procedure, which runs through the European Commission, after which it should confirm that financial support provided to our society does not violate the principles of competition and state aid allocation," Mr Skripka said.
Under the notification procedure prepared documents will run through preliminary stage, and then the main stage. Previously, the necessary documents were reviewed by all relevant agencies of Poland, and then were sent to the European Commission.
Till the end of 2013 "Sarmatia" intends to submit to the EC request for allocation of funding. But for the application work on preparation of a feasibility study and ESIA should be fully completed. It is planned to fully complete preparation of ESIA by the end of next year.
A study on the selection of the future pipeline's route, "Brody -Adam gate" has been already completed. The length of the route will be 377 kilometers, of which 120 kilometers of pipeline will be constructed on the territory of Ukraine, 257 kilometers - in Poland.
The project of "Brody-Plock" oil pipeline construction is included as a priority in the operating program of the European Union "Infrastructure and Environment". Funds amounting to 495 million zlotys (about $177 million) have been reserved under this program.
ICC "Sarmatia" was created on July 12, 2004, by "Ukrtransnafta" and the Polish PERN Przyjazn company to attract investment to design and complete construction of "Odessa-Brody" oil pipeline to Plock.
Oil project "Odessa-Brody" was planned to diversify oil supplies to Ukrainian refineries and to develop the country's transit facilities. Construction of "Odessa-Brody" oil pipeline was completed in May 2002. The pipeline has a length of 674 kilometers, the pipe diameter is 1,020 millimeters. The capacity of the first pipeline and the terminal is 9-14 million tons per year.
