Oil prices may increase as a result of the situation around Syria, director of the Agency for Research on ROI Kaynar Kozhumov said.

"Taking into account the aggravation of situation around Syria and worsening of its relations with Turkey, we should expect an increase in oil prices. It is no secret that political events affect the oil price," Kozhumov said on Friday.

Meanwhile, in his opinion, if the price increase happens, then it may go back to its original position and re-take the course to decline after the first wave of reaction to the worsening of situation in Syria.

"Today, world oil prices will depend on the situation in Eurozone and China. If the crisis in Europe increases, then surely we should expect a fall in oil prices. The growth of the Chinese economy as we see, slowed down which will also affect the price reduction, " he said.
