Kazakh Aktau Port’s oil transshipment reduces

The Kazakh Aktau International Sea Commercial Port has transhipped 5.17 million tons of oil cargo in January - August compared to 5.55 tons in January - August 2011, the Port said.

The Kazakh Aktau International Sea Commercial Port has transhipped a total of 8.03 million tons of oil cargo in 2011 compared to more than 9.56 million tons in 2010.

Some oil transhipped through the Aktau Port is then sent to Baku, from where it is supplied to the Black Sea Port of Georgia by railway.

In particular, 952,000 tons of the total amounts of handled cargo accounts for hardware, 596,000 tons ferry cargo, 469.000 tons of grain and 255,000 tons - other goods.

More than 4.07 million tons of dry goods were handled in 2011 compared to about 3.25 million tons in 2010. In particular, the port transhipped 2.01 million tons of hardware, 1.43 million tons of ferry cargo, 303,000 tons of grain and 322,000 tons of other cargo.

The port handled 7.44 million tons of cargo in total in January-August, which is 8.6 percent more than projected.

The Kazakh Aktau International Sea Commercial Port has transhipped a total of 12.1 million tons of oil and dry cargo compared to more than 12.8 million tons in 2010.
