The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to establish production of polypropylene and polyethylene of low pressure by 2015, SOCAR senior representative told Trend on Friday.
Azerkimya Production Unit, which is manufacturer of chemical products in the country, is included in SOCAR.
He said the construction of two installations for production of new types of products will cost about 200 million manat.
Organisation of the production of polypropylene and low pressure polyethylene will enable the establishing of new major enterprises in the country, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said earlier.
Start of production of new chemical products will create conditions for the development of other directions of the chemical industry and in particular production of products used at home, such as pipes and other products.
The new production will allow SOCAR to provide the new chemical industrial park with raw material,which will be established in Sumgayit.
