According to a statement released by "Azerenergy" (production and distribution of Azeri electricity) on Monday,in January-November the Shimal power plant generated more than 1.77 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity.
According to the report, in November the plant generated 130.1 million kilowatt/hours of electricity.
Work on the construction of the second 409-megawatt unit on the basis of a contract with the Japanese company "Toyo Engineering" has been started at the plant.
In this regard, the work on laying 220 kV transmission lines and substations will be carried out. As a result, the power supply of the Absheron Peninsula and Azerbaijani energy in general will be improved.
The power generation capacity of power plants owned by "Azerenergy" is more than six thousand megawatts.
There are more than 200 substations with a capacity of 500, 330, 220 and 110 kV, as well as six and 13 hydroelectric power plants on the balance of JSC.
