Revenues of Turkish Tupras increased by nearly 9% in 2012

In 2012, the sales revenue from the largest Turkish refiner Tupras increased by 8.9 percent compared to 2011, amounting to $ 23.8 billion, according to a statement published by the company on its official website on Tuesday.

22.1 million tons of oil were refined last year, which is 5.8 percent more than in 2011. Volumes of petroleum production increased by 4.3 percent in 2012 and totaled 21.7 million tons.

According to the report, the company's refining margin, indicating the difference between the cost for a barrel of oil and the value of the basket of oil products produced from it, grew by 4.3 percent for a barrel of oil.

The volume of sales on the domestic market of Turkey in 2012 rose by 4.5 percent compared to 2011, reaching 19.6 million tons. Total sales grew by 6.5 percent to 25.4 million tons.

Exports conducted by the company in 2012, increased by 13.7 percent in comparison with the previous year, amounting to 5.9 million tons.

The Turkish company Tupras was established in 1983 and is one of the largest in Europe. The company has four refineries and a petrochemical complex, which provides nearly 85 percent of Turkey's petroleum refining.
