Energy Minister of Ukraine stands for the full use of the potential of cooperation with Georgia in the energy sector.
Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavitsky believes that Georgia and Ukraine have a great potential for cooperation in the energy sector, which is not fully realized.
Ukraine is a transit country and has a branched network of pipelines, Stavitsky told journalists in Tbilisi on Tuesday.
"One of the priorities for joint work with Georgia for Ukraine is the implementation of the Euro-Asian Oil Transportation Corridor," he said.
Stavitsky also stressed the importance of cooperation in the gas sector for Ukraine.
"After the commissioning of the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline, Ukraine will receive much larger volume of gas by transit through Georgia," he said.
Stavitsky said that they agreed with the Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze to accelerate the implementation of joint projects between the two countries in the energy field.
