Azerbaijan, Baku, April 12 / Trend E. Kosolapova/

The subsidiary of Kazakh Samruk-Energy signed a framework agreement with German KD Stahl-und Maschinenbau GmbH on establishment of a joint venture producing low power wind turbines, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to Samruk-Energy.

The agreement was signed on April 10 in Kazakh Embassy to Germany in Berlin.

Initially the joint venture will assemble small wind turbines, and later will also produce component parts of wind turbines in Kazakhstan.

As was reported earlier, the estimated capacity of small wind turbines is from 300 W to 7 kW. The main advantage of such wind turbines is that they are able to generate electricity at low wind speeds (2 meters per second) and regardless of its direction.
