Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA), in partnership with SOCAR (the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic) organizes the 7th Baku Summer Energy School (BSES) on July 6-20.

BSES is an annual two-week certificate program, which brings together world-renowned scholars, academicians and policy makers to examine and gain a better understanding of global energy and environment issues and their practical application.

The Baku Summer Energy School studies a wide range of issues, such as fundamentals of energy, energy law, economics and politics of energy, environmental impacts, and strategic management.

A special focus of the program is the Caspian Basin, including regional pipeline network development and geopolitics of the Caspian. Environmental issues, as well as revenue and resource management, are emphasized throughout the course of the program.

According to the Director of the ADA Caspian Center for Energy and Environment (CCEE), Elnur Soltanov, BSES is the ADA flagship program, the target audience of which are mid- level executives from energy related companies, universities, governmental agencies from all over the world.

"Usually we have about 40 participants from 25 countries, including European countries and the USA", Soltanov told Trend.

The idea of the program is to learn and share knowledge on energy issues, Soltanov said.

Soltanov stressed that Azerbaijan is the right place for oil and gas studies given the energy attractiveness of the country.

This program will also give the Azerbaijani participants the chance to show in fact how different and sophisticated Azerbaijan is in energy issues, Soltanov said.
