Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC intends to open flights to the United States with the possibility of refueling in one of the European countries, a source in the company told Trend on Thursday.
According to the source, the opening of the flight from Baku to New York will possible in the Autumn of this year.
"But, the representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States have to visit Azerbaijan for this purpose, and on the results of the visit it will be possible to talk about the details of realization of the flight," the source said.
According to the source, the realization of the flight will be carried out through a European country, three times a week, with A-340-500 aircrafts produced by Airbus. The source did not name the transit country.
