Aktau International Sea Trade Port (AISTP) of Kazakhstan transshipped over 6.28 million tons of oil cargo in 2013 compared to about 7.6 million tons in 2012, a message posted on the port's official website said.
A part of the oil transshipped through the port of Aktau is transported to Baku, where it is delivered by railway to the Black Sea ports of Georgia.
In particular, in 2013, some 718,000 tons of the total volume of cargos transshipped by the dry-cargo port consisted of metal products, about two million tons of ferry cargos, 527,000 tons of grain, and 574,000 tons of other cargos, according to the message.
Totally, the port handled some 10.08 million tons of cargo in 2013, which is 3.1 percent more than the forecasted volume.
The number of ship callings at the port has amounted to 1,641 in 2013.
