Since June 2, 2006 till the present day, Turkish Botas International Limited (BIL) has dispatched about 1.93 billion barrels of oil from the Ceyhan oil terminal, according to the statistics for May 1, 2014.

This figure stood at over 1.67 billion barrels as of May 1, 2013, according to a message from the BIL.

BIL has been operating the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline in Turkey since 2001.

Some 2,510 tankers were shipped from the Ceyhan terminal during the reporting period, versus 2,167 tankers as of May 1, 2013, according to the BIL message.

BTC's total length is 1,768 kilometres including a 443 kilometre long section running through Azerbaijan, a 249 kilometre long section in Georgia and a 1,076 kilometre long section in Turkey.

The construction of the pipeline started in April 2003 and was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.

BTC Co. was established on August 1, 2002 for realizing the BTC oil pipeline construction project.

BTC Co. shareholders include BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), TPAO (6.53 percent), Eni (five percent), Total (five percent), Itochu (3.40 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), ConocoPhilips (2.50 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).
