The U.S. imported some 2.1 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in January-April 2014, versus 2.08 million barrels in the same period of 2013, a message from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.

The U.S. imported around 10.41 million barrels of oil in 2013, compared to 8.83 million barrels in 2012.

The Azerbaijani oil is mainly exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, through which it is delivered to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.

Azerbaijan's light oil is also exported from Georgia's Supsa port. It is supplied there via the Baku-Supsa pipeline.

Oil is also exported from Georgia's Black Sea port of Batumi. It is transported there by rail from Baku and from the Novorossiysk port via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
