SOCAR reduces gas production

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 2.23 billion cubic meters of gas in Jan.-Apr. 2015, or 16.1 percent less than in the same period of 2014 (2.65 billion cubic meters), said the message posted on SOCAR's website.

Jointly with foreign investors, SOCAR develops Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields and Shah Deniz gas and condensate field.

SOCAR produced 7.22 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014, compared to 7.31 billion cubic meters in 2013.

In total, 9.9 billion cubic meters of gas was produced in Azerbaijan in Jan.-Apr. 2015, or 3.9 percent less than in the same period of 2014 (10.3 billion cubic meters), said the message.

In total, 29.62 billion cubic meters of gas was produced in Azerbaijan in 2014, compared to 30.78 billion cubic meters in 2013.

SOCAR includes production associations Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya (the chemical industry enterprises) and Azerigaz.

The company also has a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises, and institutions involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
