The National Iranian Oil Company has issued a permit for exploratory drilling at Caspian Sea Block 8.1.
The National Iranian Oil Company CEO Roknoddin Javadi and representatives from the Caspian Oil Company discussed a number of projects and proposed related scenarios in a meeting, SHANA news agency reported June 24.
The Block 8.1 exploration proposal was chosen as the most prominent offshore project during the session.
A few steps such as determining the scope of work, holding a tender, and appointing a contractor are to be carried out before the exploration starts.
