Russia's Novorossiysk International Trade Sea Port transshipped 31.87 million metric tons of oil in January-May 2015, or 4.9 percent less than in the same period of 2014 (33.51 million metric tons), Novorossiysk port said.
The Novorossiysk port transshipped 14.05 million metric tons of petroleum products during the reporting period, which is 14.1 percent more than in January-May 2014, according to the statement.
In total, the port transshipped 58.68 million metric tons of various cargoes in January-May 2015, which is 1 percent more than in January-May 2014.
In 2014, Novorossiysk shipped 72.78 million metric tons of oil compared to 91.74 million metric tons in 2013. The Novorossiysk port shipped 27.78 million metric tons of petroleum products during the reporting period compared to 24.2 million metric tons in 2013. Around 122.09 million metric tons of various cargo were transported in 2014 compared to around 129.48 million metric tons in 2013.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) ships its own oil through the Novorossiysk port. Oil is delivered to the port via the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline.
