Kazakh bitumen plant Caspi Bitum has sent the first batch of bitumen for export, KMG Refining and Marketing said in a message.
As much as 650 tons of the bitumen produced at the plant was sent to Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The product is suitable for building almost all road-types as well as for almost all climatic zones.
Caspi Bitum, built in 2013, is a joint venture of KMG Refining and Marketing and CITIC Kazakhstan.
The plant produces two types of bitumen: viscous petroleum bitumen and modified petroleum bitumen for roads and has capacity to process up to 1 million tons of oil per year.
In 2016, the plant processed 623,500 tons of oil and produced 110,900 tons of road bitumen.
