Kazakhstan will import 1,300 tons of diesel fuel from Russia in November due to the unplanned renovation of a hydrogen plant at the Pavlodar Oil Refinery.
“The modernization of the Pavlodar Refinery is finished and the plant currently processes 2,500 tons of gasoline per day. After the catalytic cracking unit starts functioning, the amount of produced gasoline will increase to 4,000 - 4,500 tons per day,” said Director of Pavlodar Refinery Shukhrat Dunbai during a press conference at the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
He added that generally Pavlodar Oil Refinery is supposed to produce about 5,000 tons of diesel fuel per day, Kazakh media reported.
“We will use fuel imported from Russia for a while. We have already signed a contract on supply of 1,300 tons of diesel fuel. The deficit of fuel will be eliminated as soon as the Pavlodar Refinery starts to function at its maximum capacity," said Dunbai.
