The total volume of gas supplied via the Central Asia-China gas pipeline reached 200 billion cubic meters as of December 2017, the Nebit-Gaz online newspaper reported Jan. 12.
The key suppliers of gas to China are Turkmenistan (77 percent), Uzbekistan (12 percent), Myanmar (10 percent).
Presently, the total capacity of the gas pipeline running from Turkmenistan to China through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is 55 billion cubic meters per year.
Gas consumption is expected to increase to 340 billion cubic meters in China in 2020, 120 billion cubic meters of which will be imported.
