US-French JV closing its office in Azerbaijan

Grid Solutions SAS, which is a joint venture of US giant General Electric and France’s Alstom, is liquidating its representative office in Azerbaijan, the Vergiler newspaper of Azerbaijan’s Taxes Ministry reported Jan. 24.

All requirements and notifications should be sent within two months to: 44, Jafar Jafarli Street, Yasamal District, Baku, Azerbaijan, AZ1065.

Earlier, GE told Trend that optimizes the structure of its businesses in Azerbaijan. The company links this process with the opening of the representative office of GE Oil & Gas UK Ltd in Azerbaijan and the liquidation of the representative office of Grid Solutions SAS.

GE optimizes its business structures in Azerbaijan, focusing them to work as a part of larger legal entities, according to the company.

Termination of the Grid Solutions SAS branch’s activities is related to the internal restructuring and doesn’t imply company’s refusal to operate in the country, said the company.

GE believes that, one of its priorities is the promotion of innovative technologies for the increase in productivity and reliability of the regional energy infrastructure, added the company, said the company.

General Electric is an American multinational conglomerate corporation, incorporated in New York and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
