Pavlodar oil refinery to increase production

Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar oil refinery plans to increase the volume of oil refining to 5.2 million tons in 2018, said the head of the Pavlodar region Bulat Bakauov at a press briefing on Feb. 16.

"This year, the plan for oil processing will exceed the five million mark for the first time. The refinery will produce over 5.2 million tons of oil products," Bakaukov said, Kazakh media reported.

He added that the modernization of the Pavlodar petrochemical plant was a large-scale project, completed in 2017.

"The modernization projects of the region required over 200 billion tenge of investments in the reporting period. In 2017, eight projects worth 190 billion tenge were implemented in the region," Bakaukov said.

The Pavlodar region attracted 494 billion tenge of investments in 2017.

Local executive body also continues to develop the "Pavlodar" special economic zone, in order to increase the investment potential of the region.
