Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries produced 12,200 tons of petroleum coke in January 2018, which is more by 21.8 percent than last year, Nebit-Gaz, online newspaper of the Turkmen Oil and Gas Complex, reported.
Turkmenistan produced 146,300 tons of petroleum coke in 2017. Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries continues to increase production of petroleum coke, and also improves its quality by increasing the processing depth.
In November 2017, it was reported that the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries concluded a contract with the WTL (FZE) consortium of companies of the UAE and Westport Trading Europe Limited of the US on the construction of delayed coking unit.
The unit will increase the oil refining depth to 94 percent and ensure production of 191,000 tons of petroleum coke per year.
