Consumption of oil products down in Azerbaijan

In the first quarter of 2018, 831,300 tons of the main types of oil products were consumed in Azerbaijan, compared to 1.04 million tons in the first quarter of 2017, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said in a report.

According to the report, 323,000 tons of the consumed petroleum products accounted for diesel fuel, 288,800 tons accounted for gasoline, 81,300 tons for kerosene and jet fuel, 53,300 tons for naphtha, 35,800 tons for bitumen, 32,500 tons for liquefied gas and 16,600 tons for lubricants.

In the first quarter of 2018, the commercial gas reserves in Azerbaijan amounted to 7.7 billion cubic meters. Thus, 57.8 percent of the reserves were formed through production, 29.7 percent – through the reserves available in early 2018 and 12.5 percent through imports.

Meanwhile, 43.2 percent of natural gas reserves were consumed in Azerbaijan, 34.6 percent were exported, 4.9 percent accounted for the loss and the remaining 17.3 percent - backup volumes.
