Uzbekneftegaz JSC and the General Electric (GE) signed a memorandum of understanding on attracting financing for implementation of the project on technical re-equipment, modernization and development of Uzbekistan's gas transportation system, the press service of the Uzbek company stated.
The two sides also signed a cooperation agreement on studying possibility of localizing maintenance and repair of GE turbomachinery equipment as part of the project on creation of a unified GE service center in Uzbekistan.
The companies also signed an agreement on cooperation to conduct a joint technical audit of gas compressor and gas turbine equipment of the Uzbek Uzneftegazdobycha JSC [Oil and Gas Extraction].
It was reported earlier that Uzbekneftegaz and GE agreed to consider possibility of building a new Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) unit with a capacity of more than 660 megawatts based on the GE H-class gas turbine at the Tashkent Thermal Power Plant.
