The Kenar oil storage and shipment facility located near the city of Turkmenbashi in Turkmenistan is equipped with a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system and is linked to the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries by the network of pipelines, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said in a report.

The commissioning of an automated overpass is being completed at the oil storage facility, according to the report.

“With its launch, the facility will be able to simultaneously fill 28 rail tank cars per day,” the report said. “The system, which will be launched in the second half of October, is intended for computer control of the process of loading light oil products into rail tank cars, as well as processing and transmitting data, preparing accompanying documents.”

Usage of software and hardware reduces the possibility of emergency situations and the information on the actual amount of shipped oil products in tons and liters, and other necessary data, is systematized.
