Iran province developing solar power industry

For the first time, solar power plants with the participation of private sector have produced 230,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province of Iran, said Davud Rahzadi, executive director of the Electricity Distribution Company of the province, Trend reports via IRNA.

He said such volumes of energy production from solar power plants are the beginning of a major turning point in the province’s electricity industry.

He added that 16 solar power plants are producing electricity in different parts of the province.

During the nine months of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), 230,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity was transmitted to the electricity grid of the province, he said.

There are 240,000 electricity users in the province.
