By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

The Finnish company Wärtsilä cooperates with Uzbekistan in reforming the country's energy sector by modeling the energy systems and optimizing assets, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

This topic was discussed at the Smart Energy Future workshop organized by Wärtsilä Corporation and its local partner Smart Asia Labs LLC with the support of the Ambassador of Finland in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan plans to replace the existing electricity generation capacity with modern, efficient technologies that will allow the country to keep electricity costs low, while ensuring reliable energy supply. Wärtsilä's internal combustion engine technology has these characteristics.

Energy systems modeling is aimed at understanding the operation and basic principles of power systems, and quantifying the benefits of various power plants at the system level in order to find the optimal combination of power with the total cost of the optimized system.

Detailed modeling of the power system includes a full-scale model of long-term chronological dispatching, as well as dynamic parameters and operational reserves.

Wärtsilä power plants with a capacity of 10 - 600 MW can be built in less than a year. They consume very little water, work on low-pressure gas, with the possibility of using diesel fuel as a backup, and operate equally effectively in any climatic conditions.

Wärtsilä Oyj Abp with headquarters in the city of Helsinki is a Finnish public engineering company that manufactures machinery and other equipment for gas, oil and other raw material power plants. The company's large plants are located in the cities of Vaasa, Turku, and Helsinki.
