Lukoil intends to extract over 16B cm of gas in Uzbekistan

Executive Vice-President of Lukoil Ravil Maganov believes that gas production at Lukoil’s projects in Uzbekistan will exceed 16 billion cubic meters per year, Trend reports with reference to RIA Novosti.

"Since 2019, the total gas production from these projects will exceed 16 billion cubic meters per year," Maganov said, speaking at the annual meeting of shareholders.

Earlier it was reported that Lukoil invests $2 billion in existing projects in Uzbekistan, and also intends to conduct exploration on new blocks.

Lukoil has been working in Uzbekistan for 15 years. Its total investment in all projects in the country is about $8 billion.

The company took part in the largest projects in the country, working on the basis of production sharing agreements for Kandym-Khauzak-Shady and Gissar projects.

The cumulative production of natural gas at projects operated by Lukoil in Uzbekistan has reached 60 billion cubic meters.
