Management of UAE company Mubadala Utilities discussed the issue of privatization of Talimarjan thermal power plant (TPP) of Uzbekistan with the representatives of the Asian Development Bank and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
The talks were held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the concept of privatization and capacity expansion of the power plant was presented, and financial mechanisms for the implementation of the transaction and drafts of relevant legal agreements were worked out.
The concept was developed on the basis of information obtained during the company delegation’s working visit to Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant with the aim to study in detail operating activities and technical parameters of the power plant.
Following the talks, the parties came to an understanding on the key issues of further cooperation.
The agreement on the privatization of Talimarjan TPP was reached in March of this year during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates.
An investment agreement is expected to be signed by the end of 2019.
