By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern intends to sign a contract with GP Global Equipment Pte. Ltd (Singapore), Trend reports referring to the Turkmen government.

The deal includes the design and construction of a gas compressor station with a capacity of two billion cubic meters per year at the Zakli-Derweze gas treatment facility of the Merkezi Garagum (Central Karakum) gas condensate field complex.

The construction work is planned to be launched in September 2019, the gas compressor station is planned to be put into operation in February 2022.

"This is another evidence of bringing the Turkmenistan-Singapore relations to a qualitatively new level and developing partnership between the two countries in a number of spheres," the Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary state news agency said.

This project was discussed at the government meeting. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the fact that all infrastructure facilities of the oil and gas complex must be provided with modern equipment and advanced technologies.

Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk state concern began to develop the Zakli-Derweze group of gas condensate fields in Central Karakum in 2016. Thirteen wells were drilled on an area of more than 4.5 hectares by April, two of which were prepared for operation. The roads and railways stretching up to the gas compressor station were constructed.

The infrastructure of the gas compressor station consists of a railway discharge ramp, a pump station, a condensate flow meter and a condensate storage tank.

In general, about 200 deposits have been discovered in Turkmenistan, hundreds of promising structures have been prepared for deep drilling. The oil and gas potential of the pre-Jurassic deposits in the central and northern regions of the country are being explored.
