A gas field has been discovered in Iran’s Fars province and an oil field was discovered in Iran’s Khuzestan province, said Saleh Hendi, director for exploration operations at the National Iranian Oil Company, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
Hendi noted that the two discovered fields belong to Iran and aren’t in the list of joint fields with neighboring countries.
Hendi added that the gas field was discovered at the depth of 3,900 meters. He said that more details in this regard will be provided in the near future.
Last Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), gas consumption in Iran’s Tehran province reached about 24 billion cubic meters.
