Electricity generation of Iran's Manjil Wind Power Plant up

Electricity generation at Iran's Manjil Wind Power Plant, located in the country's Gilan province, increased by 79 percent in the first nine months (from March 21 to Dec. 21, 2019) of the current Iranian year, compared to the same period of the previous year, said Azim Bolbolabadi, managing director of Iran’s Gilan Regional Electric Company, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry's website.

Bolbolabadi noted that the electricity production at the plant increased by 38,100 megawatt/hours.

This power plant generated 86,100 megawatt hours of electricity during the reported nine-month period, the managing director said.

Bolbolabadi added that 48,020 megawatt hours of electricity were produced by the power plant in the same period last year.

Manjil Wind Power Plant began operating in 1994 with a 500-kilowatt turbine. The plant has 171 wind turbines and can generate 92,200 megawatts of electricity.

There are 10 power plants in Iran’s Gilan province.
