The oil production on Rag Sefid 1 oil field in Iran’s south-western Khuzestan and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces increased by 2,000 barrels a day, head of the engineering department of Iran's Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company Ali Hamrahpur said.

“The perforation operation was carried out at well # 145 of the oil field at a depth of 2,079 meters,” Hamrahpur added, Trend reports referring to the National Iranian Oil Company.

“The well was put into operation as a result of the efforts of the company's specialists,” the head of the department said. “Some 667 billion rials (about $15.8 million) were saved per year as a result of this operation.”

“The experience shows that local experts are always able to solve many problems and successfully implement the necessary programs especially during the period of the US sanctions,” Hamrahpur added. “The programs are planned to be implemented to use this method in other wells.”

The reserves on Rag Sefid field reach about 16 billion barrels of oil and four billion barrels of that volume may be extracted. Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company produces 120,000 barrels of oil a day while Gachsaran Oil and Gas Company - 70,000 barrels of oil.
