BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.19

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

The volume of oil refining by Kazakhstan’s refineries amounted to 13.8 million tons in 2019 which is 3.3 percent more compared to 2018, Trend reports with reference to the press office of KazMunayGas company (KMG).

Refining at KMG International refineries (owned by KMG) in Romania increased by 6.9 percent year-on-year to 6.7 million tons.

In turn, production of oil products at Kazakh and Romanian refineries increased by 4.3 percent in 2019 compared to 2018 amounting to 19.1 million tons.

Production of oil products at Kazakh refineries increased by 3 percent in 2019 compared to 2018 and equaled 12.5 million tons mainly due to an increase in refining volumes at the Shymkent refinery on the back of an increase in refining capacity after the completion of the modernization program.

Light oil products yield at all three refineries was at 64 percent in 2019 compared to 61 percent in 2018.

Domestic demand for light petroleum products was fully covered and 37,000 tons of own produced gasoline were exported to European and Central Asian markets.

Oil products production at KMG International refineries in Romania increased by 6.9 percent year-on-year and equaled 6.6 million tons as a result of improving the mixture of crude oil for processing and an increase of demand in the market.

KazMunayGas (KMG) is the Kazakhstan operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state interests in the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan.
