Uzbekneftegas launches new wells in Uzbekistan

Uzbekneftegas launched well number 127 at Somontepa field of Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department of Uzbekneftegaz JSC oil and gas company, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz press service.

As a result of perforation works carried out in intervals of 2,348-2,470 meters, commercial gas inflow was received with daily flow rate of 96,800 cubic meters and 0.58 tons of condensate.

Somontepa gas condensate field is located in Alatsky District of Bukhara Region and was commissioned in 2006. Currently, gas and condensate are produced from 43 wells of the field.

The national holding company Uzbekneftegaz is a state-owned holding company and the largest state company in Uzbekistan. The company ranks 11th in the world's natural gas production.

Recently, Uzbekneftegaz renovated abandoned wells number 288 and number 327 of Shurtan field in Guzar district of Kashkadarya region. From well number 288 company received gas inflow of 50,000 cubic meters a day, from well number 327 – 60,000 cubic meters a day.

At the beginning of 2020, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting at which the head of state instructed Uzbekneftegaz to thoroughly analyze each field it is operating and ensure the increase in gas production.
