Uzbekistan reduces exchange value of local diesel

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr. 15

By Ilkin Seyfaddini – Trend:

Uzbekneftegaz company has reduced the exchange price of diesel fuel from 7,300 to 5,600 soum (from $0,75 to $0,57) per liter since April 14, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz press service.

Over the past three months, the price of local diesel fell by almost 2,000 soum.

Uzbekneftegaz has created a stock of diesel fuel for farmers and landowners to carry out agro-technical work, said the report.

From January through February 2020, the exchange price of diesel produced by Uzbekneftegaz remained at 7,500 soum ($0,77). In March, the price at the exchange fell to 7089 soum ($0,73), but at fuel stations it was sold at 7,300 soum.

During the coronavirus pandemic, raw materials were imported at low prices, "which significantly reduced the cost," it was reported.

On 30 March 2020, Uzbekneftegaz launched production of high quality diesel fuel meeting Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards for the first time in the history of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekneftegaz is an Uzbek holding corporation engaged in geological exploration, production, transportation, storage, processing and sale of oil and gas. The Company is the 11th largest natural gas producer in the world.
