The Electric motorcycles will soon go on sale in Iran, said Pouyan Ahmadizadeh, the executive director of Bana Sharif Company, Trend reports citing Iranian Vice Presidency for Science and Technology Department’s website.

Bana Sharif is a knowledge-based company, engaged in research and development of electric vehicles, namely motorcycles.

According to Ahmadizadeh, these motorcycles will be more beneficial, given the relatively high cost of gasoline and electricity in Iran.

Ahmadizadeh added that the company designs and manufactures electric motorcycles in the country. A number of licenses have been obtained for the product.

"After obtaining a license for the registration tab, mass production of this product will begin," he said.

Ahmadizadeh said that due to the importance of the battery in the motorcycle, the company will provide two-year warranty on it. The official did not disclose the initial price of the motorcycle.

On Nov. 15, 2019, the price of gasoline sold on quota increased from 10,000 rials (23 cents) to 15,000 rials (35 cents) and the price of gasoline sold free from the quota increased to 30,000 rials (71 cents) in Iran.
