By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

A fountain inflow of anhydrous oil with a flow rate of 165 cubic meters a day was received from a well drilling at Kazakhstan’s Sagidulla Nurzhanov oil field, Trend reports with reference to the Embamunaigas JSC company, which is developing the field.

“One of the priorities of Embamunaigas (EMG) as of the company developing mainly mature fields, is to increase the resource base. As a result of systematic work in this direction, a new productive horizon was revealed at a depth of 3,252-3,265 meters in Triassic deposits in the undrilled part of the Sagidulla Nurzhanov field,” the company said.

The EMG’s Chairman of the Board Esen Kairzhan said that the appraisal work with implementation of a complex of field geological and hydrodynamic studies to determine the optimal well operation mode is currently underway at the well.

As of Jan. 1, 2020, the remaining recoverable reserves of EMG amounted to 86.2 million tons compared to 74.3 million tons as of Jan. 1, 2019.

Oil reserves in the amount of 14.8 million tons for the existing fields of Nurzhanov, Kenbay (Eastern Moldabek section), Dosmukhambetovskoe, Botakhan and the newly discovered Western Karasor field (1.4 million tons) were approved in 2019.

The increase was achieved as a result of a rational approach to the development of Mature fields and active exploration by using new methods and technologies.

Embamunaygas JSC is a subsidiary of KazMunayGas Exploration Production JSC. The main activities of the company are geological exploration, development of oil and gas fields; oil and gas production; oil and gas treatment.

Embamunaygas JSC consists of 6 production divisions in Atyrau city and 4 ones in Atyrau region.
