The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company's in the Bandar Imam Special Economic Zone of Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) exports have tripled in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), the company's CEO Reza Ghasemi Shahri said at the company’s meeting on June 8, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to Ghasemi Shahri, about 46,000 tons of PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) products were exported to various countries in the last Iranian year.
Ghasemi Shahri added that in total, the company sold more than 618,000 tons of PET products last Iranian year. About 573,000 tons of it were sold on the domestic market.
The official said that in total, the company produced about 1.14 million tons of products last Iranian year.
"If the required fuel is provided, it is forecasted that a new record will be set in production, local sales and exports in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020)," he said.
Ghasemi Shahri said that the share of the company's revenues that can be distributed among shareholders are 10.4 trillion rials (about $356 million).
At the annual meeting, 637 rials (0.1 cent) of revenues is expected for each share. It was decided to give 410 rials (0.09 cent) as revenue per share.
The company launched its activity in 1998 and it operates in Bandar Imam Special Economic Zone on the area covering 34 hectares. The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company produces PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) products.
The company produces more than 1.6 million tons of products a year, and the value of the company's annual production is estimated at more than $800 million. The company operates under the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company of Iran.
