Oil production from Iran's South Azadegan field to increase

There are two plans to increase production at the South Azadegan oil field, part of Iran's Azadegan oil field on the border with Iraq, Executive Director of Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Touraj Dehghani said, Trend reports citing National Iranian Oil Company’s official website.

Dehghani said that according to the first plan, daily oil production will increase to 320,000 barrels, and according to the second plan – to 600,000 barrels.

According to Dehghani, both plans will be completed by the end of next year (will start March 21, 2021).

The director said that at present, the field produces 40,000-50,000 barrels of oil per day using mobile processing equipment (Skid Mounted).

The official added that in general, the efforts are being made to increase production in these fields by 350,000 barrels with certain operations in the South Azadegan, South Yaran fields in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020).

Dehghani said that the second plan envisaged to increase production from the Yadavaran and North Azadegan fields. Under this plan, production at the Yadavaran field will increase by 50,000 barrels per day.
