Plant of Iran's Shazand Oil Refining Company to be commissioned

A plant for production of normal hexane (fuel used in the petrochemical industry) at the Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refining Company in the Shazand county of Iran's Markazi Province will be fully commissioned in the coming days, the Executive Director of Shazand Oil Refining Company Gholamhossein Ramazanpour said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Ramazanpour, the part of this plant was commissioned in the 11th month of last Iranian year (January 21-February 19, 2020).

The director added that commissioning of this plant, allowed Iran to safe funds from spending them on imports.

“The purpose of putting this plant into operation is to provide the fuel domestically that needed by Iran's petrochemical industry,” he said.

The Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refining Company was launched in 1993 with the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day. The company currently processes more than 250,000 barrels of oil. The company produces more than 17 million liters of gasoline and 12 million liters of diesel in accordance with the Euro 4 standard. In addition, the company produces 500 tons of propylene, 400 tons of granular sulfur and 2,000 tons of liquefied gas per day.
