The total volume of petroleum products manufactured by the Star refinery of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) in Turkey stood at 849,706 tons in April 2020, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
In the reporting month, the total volume of crude oil imported by Star refinery amounted to 891,158 tons, which is 37.8 percent more compared to April 2019 (374,623 tons).
The total volume of diesel fuel exported from the refinery in April of this year amounted to 200,895 tons, which is 30 percent more than in April 2019 (154,437 tons).
The opening ceremony of the Star oil refinery worth $6.3 billion took place on October 19, 2018 in Izmir, Turkey.
The total refining capacity of the refinery is 10 million tons, and SOCAR acts as the main supplier of the crude materials for the enterprise.
The refinery allows to significantly reduce the dependence of Turkey on imports of petrochemical products.
