Mahabad Petrochemical Company in the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) transports 500 tons of products daily to Bandar Abbas port by railway, the director general of Iran’s Azarbaijan Railway Network Shapour Arsalani told IRNA, Trend reports.

Arsalani noted that 20 freight wagons, each weighing 25 tons, are loaded at the Mahabad railway station every day.

He added that each wagon arrives at the Bandar Abbas port within 3-4 days after loading.

The director general stressed that the proximity of the railway station to the Mahabad Petrochemical Company has allowed the company's products to be transported by rail to any part of the country.

Mahabad Petrochemical Company produces 300,000 tons of light and heavy polyethylene and 30,000 tons of Butene 1 products per year and exports them to local and foreign markets.
