NISOC drills new well at Mansouri field in Iran

A new well (#119) was drilled at the Mansouri oil field in the territory managed by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) in Iran last week, Technical Director of NISOC Sadegh Fatollahi said, Trend reports referring to the company's website.

Fatollahi said that the well was drilled and completed 20 days earlier than the initially planned 47 days.

He added that the well was drilled as part of a plan to protect and increase production in 28 oil and gas fields on the territory of the NISOC.

Also, Fatollah said that it is planned to drill 14 new wells and repair 7 wells at the Mansouri field.

According to Fatollahi, in addition, well No. 12 was drilled in 108 days at the Nargesi oil field. It is planned to drill 4 more wells in this field.

"So far, 7 wells have been drilled in Mansouri, Ramshir, Nargesi and Kabud fields, and 9 more wells are being drilled," he said.

The Mansouri oil field is located in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). The field contains a total of 3.3 billion barrels of crude oil and produces 100,000 barrels of oil per day.

The Nargesi oil field is located in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran). About 15,000 barrels of oil is extracted daily from this field.
