Volume of gas pumped into storage facilities in Iran revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 23

A total of 2.31 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped into the Shouricej D gas storage facility in the Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) and the Sarajeh gas storage facility in the Qom Province (central Iran) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019-March 20, 2020), executive director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) Ramin Hatami said, Trend reports citing the National Iranian Oil Company’s official website.

The director noted that this is an increase of 43 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).

He added that in addition, 2.62 billion cubic meters of gas was received from these storage facilities in the last Iranian year. This is an increase of 17 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.

"The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) has plans to conduct exploration in the Tabnak, Shanol, Varavi, Aghar and Dalan gas fields, Naft Shahr, Sarvestan and Saadatabad oil fields," he said.

According to Hatami, in this regard, 3 plans have been submitted to the relevant research company, and 2 plans will be submitted to the research company within the next month. These plans include details on oil and gas fields, forecasting the function of the fields, calculating economic benefits and increasing production.

"A program to develop oil and gas fields and increase production of 11 gas fields and 11 oil fields in the territory of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company has been regulated and is expected to be implemented with an investment of about $5.5 billion," he said.
