Generation of Iran's Bandar Abbas TPP disclosed

The generation of the Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) exceeded 2.87 million megawatts during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), said Deputy Director of Thermal Power Plant Holding Company’s branch in Hormozgan Province Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to Mahmoudi, 2.79 million megawatt-hours of electricity generated at the Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant accounted for steam units, and more than 72,000 megawatts-gas units.

The deputy director added the power plant fulfilled 49.5 percent of its obligations for the annual generation.

The Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The TPP has 4 steam units-each capacity of 320 megawatts and 2 gas units-each capacity of 25 megawatts. In general, the power generation potential of this power plant is 1,320 megawatts and the TPP provides 60 percent of electricity in Hormozgan Province.
