Uzelektoapparat-Electroshield to construct power supply facilities in Uzbekistan’s Navoi

Uzelektoapparat-Electroshield will implement the construction and installation work at the newly commissioned power supply facilities of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine, Trend reports referring to the press service of National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan.

The results of the international tender held by the National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC for the repair and modernization of the backbone substations were summed up.

Uzelektroapparat-Electroshield won a World Bank-financed tender with an offer of about $26 million. Of the six companies assessed by the commission in the tender, three companies submitted bids for less than $20 million ($15.9 million, $19 million, $17.3 million), one company submitted for $23.7 million, and the other two submitted for $38.5 million.

According to open data, 80 percent of the shares of Uzelektroapparat-Electroshield JSC is owned by Toshelektroapparat LLC, 18.9 percent is owned by Degent GmbH (Switzerland) and 1.1 percent is owned by individuals.

Toshelectroapparat LLC is wholly owned by foreign companies - 75 percent belong to Tanotraden AG (Switzerland) and 25 percent belong to Comagra Commerz & Agrar-Handel AG (Switzerland).

According to the press service of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine, Uzelektroapparat-Electroshield was chosen as the general contractor to perform construction and installation work at the newly commissioned power supply facilities of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine, including for design and construction, and installation work on the installation of reactive power sources at Bessopan switching point.
