Azerbaijan reveals data on oil, petrocemicals exports to Belarus for 9M2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 14

Trend:

Azerbaijan exported 455,977 tons of oil and oil products to Belarus from January through September 2020, the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan told Trend.

According to the committee, the export value of oil and petrochemical products amounted to 117.7 million manat ($69.2 million).

The committee said that no oil and petrochemicals were exported to Belarus during the same period of last year.

Oil supplies from Azerbaijan to Belarus were carried out in 2011 as well. The contract provided for the supply of 4 million tons, but the actual volume of shipments was about 900,000 tons.

Oil supplies by Azerbaijan to Belarus in the south direction via Ukraine were resumed due to the lack of imports from large Russian companies following disagreements on prices.

During the absence of oil supplies from Russia, Belarus began its alternative import - through the port of Klaipeda by rail to the Naftan refinery and from the port of Odessa to the Mozyr refinery through the Odessa-Brody and Brody-Mozyr oil pipelines. Alternative oil supplies also started from Norway and Azerbaijan. In May, Belneftekhim started importing oil from Saudi Arabia and the US.
